No Sir, Not Today! Life can be heavy. Sometimes you're so busy taking care of everyone else that you don't realize how much you've been carrying until you simply can't carry it anymore. Maybe you're exhausted, overwhelmed, anxious, grieving, or just tired of pretending you're okay. You've been surviving, but deep down you know you were created for more than just getting through the day.
If that sounds familiar, you're not alone. My goal is to provide a space where you can exhale, be yourself, and talk honestly without fear of judgment. You don't have to have all the answers before you come to therapy. You just have to be willing to show up.
I believe healing happens through connection. Together, we'll make sense of what's keeping you stuck, process the hurts that have followed you for years, and help you build a life that feels more peaceful, balanced, and authentic. I'll challenge you when you need it, encourage you when you're struggling, and celebrate every step forward along the way.
Clients often tell me they appreciate that I'm real. I won't just nod and ask, "How does that make you feel?" I'll meet you with compassion, honesty, and practical tools that help you move beyond surviving into truly living.
Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, grief, burnout, or a major life transition, you don't have to face it alone. Healing is possible. The life you're longing for isn't out of reach, and I'd be honored to walk alongside you as you find your way back to yourself.
You've carried enough. It's okay to let someone help you carry it now.
My name is Edwina Leonard LPC. I have a Bachelor’s in Human Services, Masters in School Counseling and a Post Graduate Certificate in Mental Health. I am a certified School Counselor and have over 20 years of experience in the therapeutic space working with children, young adults, parents/families and adults both in the US and Abroad, but my passion is working with Women and Men who are “Sick and tired of being Sick and tired.” Therapy is hard work and sometimes you will be required to sit in a space that is uncomfortable, but I hear all the time that I have a homey and relatable vibe, I am the therapist that they didn’t know that they needed and that I provide a welcomed space that lets them let down their walls because they won’t be judged. I also hear that I won’t let them give up, feel defeated, will keep it real and call them out when needed. Hey, I get it, I have a past and being judged sucks.
I work from an eclectic approach because there is no one fit for all my clients, but I work from the here and now space with a visit to the past and a focus on the future with some challenge in between to promote your self-awareness, personal responsibility and to focus on you as the whole person in the context of your life. So if you are ready to make a change, I welcome you to join me in a space where “We Bend, But Don’t Break”

Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired?
If you're anything like so many of the “Grown Folk” that I work with, you've probably asked yourself that question more than once. As responsible adults, we're often expected to be everything for everyone. We pour into others until there's nothing left for ourselves. We keep showing up, smiling, and pushing through, even when we're exhausted.
I know that feeling because I've lived it.
There was a time when I was constantly moving but never truly at peace. I was trying to hold my family together, nurture my relationships, work, and somehow find time for myself. The truth is, I always came last. I became so accustomed to surviving that I didn't realize how much I had lost myself in the process. Underneath the strength everyone else saw, I was carrying anxiety, depression, loneliness, and a quiet anger that kept growing. As Iyanla Vanzant calls it, I had reached a high level of "pissosity." I spent so much time trying to save everyone else that I forgot I needed saving too.
That experience changed the way I see therapy.
I believe therapy isn't about fixing what's "wrong" with you—because you aren't broken. It's about slowing down long enough to understand yourself. It's a place to unpack the experiences that shaped you, challenge the beliefs that no longer serve you, heal old wounds, and ask one simple but powerful question: "How is this working for me?"
Healing begins when we stop surviving and start living with intention. It requires honesty, courage, grace, and a willingness to see ourselves with compassion instead of criticism. It means learning to forgive—not because what happened was okay, but because you deserve to be free.
That's the heart behind Bend Don't Break Counseling.
The name reflects what resilience truly looks like. Life's storms can be fierce. Some leave us bruised, weary, and questioning everything we thought we knew. But resilience doesn't mean pretending the storm didn't hurt. It means discovering that even after everything you've endured, you're still standing. You may have bent under the weight, but you didn't break.
If you're ready to stop carrying the weight alone, I'd be honored to walk alongside you. Together, we'll help you release what no longer serves you, rediscover your strength, and create the peace you've been longing for.
Welcome to Bend Don't Break Counseling—where the journey to healing begins.

Several years ago, I felt a persistent calling to write a book about healing the inner child. The desire to share my story and encourage others never left me, but every time I thought about actually writing a book, I became overwhelmed. Before I could even begin, self-doubt convinced me I wasn't ready, wasn't qualified, or would fail before I started.
A trusted friend encouraged me to work with a Life Coach, and that decision changed everything.
Through coaching, I learned how to quiet my inner critic, replace limiting beliefs with empowering ones, set meaningful goals, and take intentional steps outside my comfort zone. I stopped waiting until I felt confident and started moving forward despite the uncertainty. Today, I'm proud to say I achieved my dream of becoming a published author—not because fear disappeared, but because I no longer let it lead.
That's why I'm passionate about Life Wellness Coaching.
So many of us aren't stuck because we're lazy or unmotivated. We're stuck because life happens. Responsibilities pile up, priorities shift, disappointments accumulate, and before we know it, we've put our dreams on hold. We become sick and tired of feeling uninspired while carrying the quiet belief that we were created for something more.
Life Wellness Coaching is about helping you reconnect with that purpose.
Together, we'll identify what's keeping you stuck, uncover the beliefs that are holding you back, and create a practical plan to move you toward the life you truly want. Whether you're pursuing a dream, navigating a transition, building confidence, or simply ready to stop settling, coaching provides the accountability, encouragement, and strategy to help you move forward with intention.
Imagine creating a life that reflects who you truly are—a life lived on purpose, with confidence, authenticity, and joy.
Coaching vs. Therapy
While therapy focuses on healing emotional pain, mental health concerns, and the impact of past experiences, Life Wellness Coaching is future-focused. Coaching helps you clarify your vision, set meaningful goals, overcome obstacles, and take action toward the life you want to create.
Life Wellness Coaching is not a substitute for psychotherapy or mental health treatment. I do not diagnose or treat mental health disorders through coaching. If you are experiencing significant emotional distress, I will gladly provide appropriate referrals and resources. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or need immediate support, please call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
Your purpose is still waiting for you. Let's take the next step—together.
